Thank you for your interest in the Marines’ Memorial Scholarship Program! Below are the most frequently asked questions about the program and application process. Due to the high volume of calls and emails about the Scholarship Program, we recommend you read the questions below before contacting the Marines’ Memorial staff. Yes. For the 2024-2025 application, each student will fill out a single application and must indicate the scholarships for which you are qualified and applying.

No. You can only submit a single letter of recommendation for all applications (in .PDF format only). In other words, you do not need separate letters of recommendation for each scholarship.

No. Only the student can fill out the application. If an application is found to have been filled out by someone other than the student, the applicant will not be considered.

No. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors or returning college students. High school juniors are not eligible; however, we will look forward to your application when you are a high school senior!

Letters of recommendation must be sent to you and uploaded into your application in .PDF format (no other format will be accepted).

Note: Any applications without a letter or recommendation will be considered incomplete and will not be considered for a scholarship award.

Absolutely! Scholarship monies are meant to cover tuition and other educational expenses. Please note that scholarship checks are payable to the awardees’ schools. If you have questions about if a scholarship will interfere with your GI Bill tuition assistance, please contact your college’s admissions department or Student Veteran Center. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at: scholarships@mmaf1946.org.

The fully completed online application(s) must be submitted no later than 11:59 PM on Friday, 15 March 2024. If you complete the application, but do not hit the submit button, the application will not be considered.

Marines’ Memorial uses AwardSpring software for our scholarship applications. If you have any technical problems using the software, please contact us at: scholarships@mmaf1946.org.

2024 applicants must be in at least one of the three following categories:

  • Active Member, Child, or Grandchild of an active Marines’ Memorial Member. To verify membership please contact our Membership Department at: member@mmaf1946.org.
  • United States armed forces active service member or Veteran (Marines’ Memorial member is not required)
  • Spouse or Child of a United States active service member or Veteran

Note: Only five scholarships will be available with “Marines’ Memorial membership not required”, however all other requirements must be met or exceeded.

To avoid conflicts of interest and inurement, paid employees, volunteers, Board of Directors, and their immediate family members (including grandchildren and in- laws) are not eligible to apply for Marines’ Memorial Scholarships. Once an employee, volunteer, or Director finishes their employment or term, they and their family members who qualify may apply.

No. The .PDF format is the ONLY acceptable file submission.
