- My wife, daughter in law & husband spent 3 nights at this club. The rooms were nice, quite & very nicely done. I would highly recommend this club when in this area. There is a free breakfast each morning with newspapers delivered to your door. The rate are less than some of the hotels in the same area. You are in walking distance to most of the city with good resturants.

- 12-1-2023 Went to lunch at this club with 2 others. My guess had sandwiches which they state were good. My meal was horrendous! The chef came out to apology for the meal which they took off the check. Expensive as well. Would not recommend it.

- 11/5/22 Went to the pub after a Yale football game. Had great meal with wonderful staff.
- Went to this club for dinner on 4/28/2022. It is a Yale University club with a lot of history. You can see the pictures and notes from a least 4 U.S. Presidents. Worth a stop.

- The following is an email we sent the Club after our stay. Appalled by the accommodations. My wife and I are Benefactors to the Marine Corps Hotel is San Francisco. We love to travel and are accustomed to the excellence and attention to detail at the Facility. Tara and I typically choose to stay at reciprocal hotels as they are representative of the quality and standards at the Marine Corps Hotel. We were excited to stay at the New Haven Lawn Club after reviewing your website and reading your description of the guest accommodations which I pasted above. I had a feeling something was off when we arrived and the receptionist seemed caught off guard when we told her we were checking in. The guest room was not in the least bit welcoming or special as described on your website. It looked like it had not been touched or updated since the 1950s. The blue carpet was in terrible condition and had multiple stains. There were two used bandages and dust bunnies under the bed. The walls were covered in marks and large cracks, paint was chipped everywhere and there was cover up paint on the ceiling that probably covered a water leak. Almost every tile in the bathroom was cracked, dirty and missing grout. The bed was hard as rock, the shower did not drain, and we had to flush the toilet multiple times to get rid of waste. That evening we could not sleep due to the heat. When I called the front desk, I was told there was only one thermostat for the floor and we could not set the temperature to our liking. The blinds did not block out the extreme light from the tennis courts and it felt like daytime until the timer shut them off after 10pm. I requested and was granted a move into room 6, directly across the hall, in an attempt to get away from the court lights and loud guests at the wedding below. This room was in even worse condition. There was plaster literally peeling and falling off the walls and ceiling. The armchair upholstery was ripped exposing the chair filling. My wife and I came here for a wedding and family reunion. Due to the busy schedule, we were unable to move to another hotel and endured 4 nights in these conditions. I understand that your ROI probably comes from membership and events. The food was delicious, the grounds were beautiful and everyone we met on your Staff was exceptional. If you choose not to update the rooms, then please don’t make them available for booking and mislead guests to think they are “welcoming and special.” I have stayed at Motels while traveling for business that were in better shape. Our stay at the The New Haven Lawn Club could have been exceptional had you taken some personal pride in the room accommodations. Instead, our vacation was tainted because of the state of those rooms and the misleading advertising. I will be sharing our experience with executive leadership at the Marine Hotel in San Francisco in hopes that other members do not share the same experience we had at your Facility. Respectfully, Steven and Tara Morehouse
