- Posted on 11/26/2019 - I had a very nice lunch at the University Club on 11/20/2019. The main dining area was occupied by a Rotary meeting, so casual diners were seated in the upstairs library. The food was nicely prepared, tasty, and reasonably priced, with very attentive, excellent service. I echo the previous comments about the facility, especially its artwork. One of the members told me the artwork is likely worth more that the building itself. - Mike Kanze
- Posted on July 28, 2018: This is such a nice little lunch club. It is surrounded by the Fuller Seminary campus. It's a historic building, great parking lot, with valet when busy, wonderful chef and menu. It;s worth going just to see the Alson Skinner Clark paintings. - Anita Brenner

- My wife and I stayed at the Army Navy Club in April 2023. The club is very well located on Farragut Square a short walk from the White House and the many interesting sites on the Mall. Our room was quite large, very clean and very comfortable. The staff members are polite and helpful. The atmosphere of the club is somewhat more formal than the MMC and coat and tie are required for the dining room and some other spaces. We enjoyed the dinner we had there and the dining room is quite impressive. The on premises library is well worth a visit; they employ a full time librarian. For breakfast consider walking over to the other side of Farragut Square to Le Pain Quotidien for a nice casual breakfast. The address is 800 17th Street, NW.
- This is an amazing club. My wife and I spent the night in January and were very impressed. First, the history of the club is amazing. The photos, paintings, and plaques are incredible to wander around and explore. The library is filled with out-of-print books that portray the histories of hundreds of military events. The room was fantastic with an old 4-poster bed that made us feel like we were back in the 50s. The restaurant was simply amazing. The menu choices made it very difficult to choose and the quality of the prepared food was top-notch. Finally, the staff was perfect. From the Lounge to the front desk they were the epitome of service.
- 20 May 2019 - Wonderful stay. Highly recommend. Room includes fantastic made to order breakfast. Staff very friendly and accommodating. First class all around. - Jack L Jordan Jr
- Posted October 19, 2018 - Second visit to this wonderfully club. We brought four of our DC area friends along for a wonderful dinner. Be sure to use the valet parking. The “Army Navy” garage, next door, is not affected with the club and closes at 8:00 PM. Budget time for the bar and beautiful and extensive library. Five stars. - Leland Parker
- Posted on March 6, 2017 at 1:38pm - "I visited the Army and Navy Club the week of 2/28/17 and found the staff helpful and welcoming, the cuisine wonderful and the service commendable." - Jim Gwinner
- Posted on May 10, 2017 at 3:32pm - "Visited Army Navy Club, 5/8/17. Outstanding dinner, with two our local family guests along. Very nice room. Staff is very friendly and professional. If you’re a history buff, you’ll really love the place. Allow plenty of time to enjoy the Club’s extensive library and art collection. Five Stars!" - Lee Parker
- My wife and I stayed at the Army and Navy club for 4 nights recently while visiting the D.C. area, and our entire experience at the club was extraordinary! The staff was extremely pleasant, the dining excellent (breakfast, dinners and Sunday brunch), and the facility a treasure trove of history. Great, great experience.
- Visited the Club last week and stayed several nights. I could not be more pleased with every facet of my experience there! Everyone was very friendly from the minute I arrived and the room was very nice. Comfortable Stearns & Foster beds are a plus. Daily breakfast was a nice experience and dinners were excellent. Tuesday evening's seafood buffet was fabulous. I will be returning to the Army and Navy Club!
- My wife and I had dinner at the Army and Navy Club on a recent trip to Washington, D.C. It was a most memorable experience. We had world class food and service in elegant surroundings. I have been to many fine restaurants and this was one of the best. The only drawback was that their famous Daiquiri Bar (so nicknamed, because it is said to be the place where the Daiquiri was introduced to America by an officer returning from Cuba after the Spanish American War) and the historical library were under renovation.
- The Army and Navy Club is one of my favorites to visit --- The staff is so friendly and caring; their Eggs Benedict is the best for breakfast. Their library on the 3rd floor is fantastic and the downtown location so close to the White House is unbeatable. While I did not stay overnight in the Club this past trip, I have in the past and would recommend it highly to the refined traveler.
- We stayed at the Army Navy Club in August 2014 while on vacation and taking in e the many DC sights. The rooms are very comfortable and staff attentive. While there is a dress code it did not impact our experience in any way. We simply dressed for meals and wore more casual clothing when touring the sights. Excellent location and close to two Metro stops. We will definitely be staying again and highly recommend.
- My wife and I stay at the Army & Navy Club every year when visiting on business. We enjoy the staff and the hotel that is one of the remnants of old Washington and its splendor. Always pleased to visit. The Club and its amazing facilities are a topnotch draw.
- Great lunch and attentive and helpful staff. Must try the Army-Navy Bean Soup. many Thanks and Well done!!!!
- I recently stayed at the Army-Navy Club while in DC on business. The staff and the service are top notch. Very nice place to stay. The food in the dining room is wonderful. Yes, they do require appropriate dress, which I find refreshing. The club is convenient to the Metro and close enough to walk to the Mall sites. I would highly recommend this club and will be staying here again.
- I try to stay at the Army/Navy Club at least a couple times a year while in Washington on business. Have always found the staff to be very helpful. Food and Bar service outstanding, and a hidden jewel is the library on the second floor. A great place to get lost for a couple of hours wandering through a fine collection of military history! Also they have valet parking that is efficient and not overly expensive.
- I've been a guest at the Army and Navy Club many times over a 30 year period and have found the lodging, dining, cocktail lounge and events facilities exceptional in every way. The Thursday night seafood buffet is a real treat, especially if you like oysters on the half shell. I've never had a disappointing experience.
- I recently entertained 10 guests at the Club for cocktails/dinner and found it exceptional in service, quality of food and ambience. Everyone enjoyed the formality and did not find it stuffy. I am about to entertaining another group of ten and look forward to a lovely evening. Elaine Freeman Navy Widow
- While the facility is nice...it is very stuffy. You have to wear coat and tie at all times to use the facilities...breakfast...the bar...dinner....the staff reflects this stuffiness also...would not recommend it if you're in a tourist mode. Lanny A. Kope Colonel USMC (Ret)

- Posted on March 6, 2017 at 1:41pm - "I visited the club on 3/1/17 and was impressed with the quality of amenities and the service. On a day that congress is in session – it’s a busy place or a drink so don’t look for a quiet nook to have a conversation but it was lively and fun. I recommend." - Jim Gwinner
