  1. Posted on 10/30/19 - In order to use any features of this club, you must stay overnight. Here's the e-mail I got: ######### The Union League of Philadelphia instituted a new policy regarding reciprocal use. An overnight stay in The Inn at the League is required when using any reciprocal privileges at the League. Reciprocal privileges included when staying overnight ate: use of The Union League Golf Club at Torresdale and its renowned Donald Ross course, clubhouse and pool and use of our newly acquired Gladwyne Guardhouse for dining on the main line. Other privileges include use of: the Fitness Center, the Business Centers, our three dining rooms, the Library, Barber Shop and Concierge. This change was not a reactive change but a thoughtful decision made during our strategic business planning process. We have embarked on this for a couple of reasons: · Like most clubs we subsidize a la carte dining with dues income · Our membership is full and our dining facilities are operating at maximum capacity on most days Hopefully, we will still welcome members, who will see value in our new reciprocal arrangement, which gives them access to more amenities when staying overnight with us at The Inn at the Union League of Philadelphia. When visiting the League all reciprocal members must submit a Letter of Introduction prior to arrival. Front Desk Fax: 215-851-8788 or email: frontdesk@unionleague.org All charges must be satisfied onsite with a credit card The Union League is a non-tipping institution - Vishal Aswani
  2. Posted on October 19, 2018 - Disappointed. Will not welcome reciprocity for dinner only. Must book an overnight room also. - Ray Arment
  3. Posted October 19, 2018 - This is the No. 1 rated US club for good reason. Stayed two nights. Three excellent restaurants and all the amenities you would expect. We felt very privileged to be guests. 4,500 members and a very professional staff of 700. The Union League makes Philly a traveler’s destination. The historic sites and the new Revolutionary War Museum are outstanding. - Leland Parker
  4. Posted on October 19, 2017 at 6:39 pm - "The ‘Bride’ and I spent one night (Sept 20, 2017) and absolutely enjoyed it. We were going to DC for the 50th reunion of my USMC Officer Class (TBS 4-67) and included a stop in Philadelphia (after Gettysburg). Read the dress code rule book: no shorts, cut offs, or Levi’s, etc. You do not get to go in the front entrance (members only) and enter from the side of the building (yes, check in is there and a bellman, too). Other than that, it is a really neat experience in a building that is impressive from the outside and even more inside. The whole section where the rooms are has you use your room key just to get into it: and then again to get into you room – really secure! Bed was very nice (the bride is picky and liked it). Rooms not large, but, fine. It is about a block from the Philadelphia City Hall (now there is an impressive building!). This club was right at the center of ‘power’ in Philadelphia when it was built. We ate @ the 1862 restaurant: and from the size of the menu (physical size) to the the selections (try the blue crab – not anything like what you are thinking) it is really relaxing and upscale (they do not dress ‘West Coast’ style). The wait staff is friendly and very efficient. Would highly recommend you try this club. One caveat: the breakfast @ the Marine Memorial Club is much better! We then took Amtrak to DC ($12 cab ride and 2 hour train trip)." - Robert Dearborn
  5. We were out in Philadelphia visiting our son who just started Temple Law School and had lunch at the 1862 restaurant. It was wonderful. The staff was very accommodating and the food/service was excellent. We toured the facilities and were impressed. For our next trip to visit we will definately book a room to stay.
  6. Stayed here September 26th 2012 Very nice facility celebrating their 150th year. Rooms are clean and neat with comfortable bed. Bathroom bright and freshly tiled. The fitness center is of a high quality and large. The best part was the dining at their resteraunt, "1862 by Martin Hamann." This is a very nice offering and the chef was lifted out of the Four Seasons three years ago. It is not inexpensive but on par for a 4 star resteraunt. Great for a special occaision. Staff was polite, friendly and helpful.
  7. We spent two great nights here. The rooms were clean and bright, and dining was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a great visit in Philadelphia.
  8. The Union League is worth a trip to Phildelphia for this purpose alone. It is rich with history and the staff are cordial and gracious!

  1. Posted on May 16, 2017 at 6:15pm - "The University Club of Phoenix is a marvelous place to dine in the downtown cultural district whether you are traveling or entertaining. The club is quite unique and very classy. Reservations recommended. The menu selection is larger than one would expect from the size and is superb. Walk across the street to the Heard Museum. A short distance from the Phoenix Art Museum, library. and the symphony. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of both the club and the surrounding area. My companion reminisced about previous visits as she played the grand piano in the parlor. Hosts social events and holiday brunches." - Marie Shadden
  2. Had a very fine time at the University Club. Very fine Club, located across the street from the Hight Museum Great location and friendly staff.

  1. This was my mother's favorite club and she was member of MAC. Holiday times are great with festive decorations and huge tree in December. Very helpful for private functions, used lower floor area and it was excellent. Wish it was open on weekends.... Highly recommended.
