  1. The Rideau Club in Ottawa Canada is an outstanding reciprocal club to visit. It has an outstanding location in the city near all the major governmental buildings of the Capitol. In fact the Club has excellent views from many of its dining and bar tables of the various bldgs. The Club is located on the 15 floor of the building which gives it commanding views of the entire area of the city and surrounding landscape. The Club has a variety of activities from breakfast to dinner in the main dinning room, various social activities, a quiet library, meeting rooms, and even live jazz in the bar on certain nights of the week. Ms. Caroline Lepage, the member liaison, went out of her way to make me and my party feel welcomed at the Club. She was very pleasant and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the Club. Ms. Lepage reserved a wonderful view table for us on both of our visits to the Club. The dinner and bar menus were expansive with a great wine lists and bar treats. The service was excellent and during this period of COVID, the wait staff wore mask so patrons could remove their masks. Lastly, the food was excellent prepared and presented. The dress code is strictly enforced so make sure you bring your coat and tie if you expect to dine in the main dining room. No visit to Ottawa would be complete without a visit to the Club.

  1. My wife and I had lunch at the Royal Yacht Club in March 2012 during a visit to Tasmania. It is a delightful yacht club right on the water with friendly staff, a pleasant atmosphere, and tasty pub-style food. There are no rooms here, but it would be a superb spot to watch activities surrounding the famous Sydney-Hobart sailing races at the end of each year. Merl Pugh

  1. This is the most majestic private club we have ever visited. Founded in 1864, its membership was the Chilean Elite. Located next to the Presidential Palace, it has 49,500 sq ft with three story high ceilings and mid-19th century French style furniture. We simply booked a 1pm lunch reservation. We were invited to a hours tour of the facility and an hour having a drink with the General Manager, listening to a live pianist play Mozart, before a 3pm lunch in a beautiful dining room. Chile, like other South American countries, has riots now by a lower income population against the Elite. Visiting the Union Club is a great insight into the history of Chile and was far better than any organized tour of Santiago. Strongly suggest our members visit this club.
