Join us in person to honor 160 years of Buffalo Soldiers’ legacy at our special anniversary luncheon!
As part of the national observance of Buffalo Soldier Sunday, National Buffalo Soldiers Day, the San Francisco African American Chamber of Commerce, the California Buffalo Soldiers Project, and event sponsors will co-host the 160th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Buffalo Soldiers Luncheon on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the historic Marines’ Memorial Club & Hotel in San Francisco.
This commemorative luncheon honors the Buffalo Soldiers whose service shaped California, the American West, and the nation’s military heritage. The event serves as a central gathering of Faith-Based Organizations, Veterans, families, and friends within the twelve‑city Historic Golden Triangle Corridor - Network to Freedom, including:
San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Vallejo, Fairfield, Stockton, Sacramento, Elk Grove, Folsom, West Sacramento, Rancho Cordova, San Jose, and communities throughout the region.
Held in the elegant and inviting Commandants Room, the luncheon will convene veterans, descendants, civic leaders, clergy, historians, and heritage partners for a formal program recognizing 160 years of Buffalo Soldier service, leadership, and sacrifice.
