  1. My stay was for 3 nights in April 2024. The club was superb! The staff, food, and drink was excellent. The museum was very interesting, especially the Red Barron's exhibit. Go and enjoy. Extremely clean rooms.
  2. Stayed here in August 2022. Excellent experience. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and well priced. Club is centrally located and next to the US Consulate. We were in town to attend a concert at the Rogers Arena which is a short walk away. The elevator to the guest rooms is from the lobby that is shared with an apartment building above the club. As a result you can come and go easily from your room and in very casual clothing. As we were there in August the public rooms of the club were closed. We did not have the opportunity to try the bars or the dining room. The photographs of the guest rooms on the web site are accurate. I will assume that the photos of the rest of the club are accurate. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again should we be in Toronto.

  1. My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Vancouver Club during recent travels to BC and cruise to Alaska. The club is situated in the heart of downtown within walking distance of the cruise terminal. We were welcomed warmly by the concierge and staff whom promptly assisted us with luggage and stored for us as we were early. The club is beautifully maintained and rich with history. Our accommodations were top notch. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner on the rooftop terrace which affording amazing views of the city. Thanks to being a MMAF member, we were able to enjoy an intimate, affordable, and comfortable stay in downtown Vancouver.
  2. Visited May 2025 and again in July. They provide you with a guest membership card good for 15 visits per year. We had a wonderful lunch in the barone day. Another time we had cocktails on the rooftop patio. Service was great as were the food and drinks. The club doesn't have any rooms, but we stayed 1/2 block away in the Vancouver Club.

  1. Wonderful stay at the Vancouver Club. Staff is gracious and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and well decorated. We stayed 3 nights before going on an Alaska cruise. Perfect location, less than a 10 min walk to the cruise pier. They have a very nice roof top patio open for lunch and cocktails. The club is within walking distance to Gaston and many other must see sites in the city. Most of the tours pick up at the back side of the club. When we return to Vancouver, we'll definitely try and get a room at this club.
  2. We were here May 2025. Beautiful club, great staff and very comfortable rooms. Close to cruise ship terminal and all the downtown Vancouver sites. Don't pass this up if you visit Vancouver.
  3. My wife and I just returned from five nights at the Vancouver Club. As noted in other comments, the location is perfect for any activities in the downtown area. The staff is very professional and attentive. The building was constructed in 1913 so it has a wonderful blend of early 20th century charm and modern features. The club is part of the specialness that is Vancouver. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the Vancouver Club.
  4. My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Vancouver Club July 2013. The accommodations were wonderful and the people were very friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed talking the the attendant at the desk the evening of the 22nd. The location is perfect, across the street from the Fairmont Pacific Rim and one block from the convention center. There was a bowl of front and a personalized welcome letter in the room when we arrived. We would definitely return to this club.
  5. Had a wonderful stay late July 2011. Leaving for Alaskan cruise and the location was perfect! The staff and service was outstanding. The accomodations in Room 5 were spacious and spotless. We had breakfast and dinner and both were very nice..will be sure to stay there again if ever in Vancouver!
  6. We just returned home after our second stay at the Vancouver Club. We stayed there for 2 nights after a cruise from San Diego. Both visits were extraordinary. The ambience of the club, the friendliness, courtesy and helpfulness of the staff were again exemplary! The food was very good, the room we stayed in was large & so very comfortable. The club made our stay in Vancouver all the better for being available. Thank you, each & every one of you!

  1. We visited the Union Club for a lovely dinner yesterday and really enjoyed it. The club is located in the heart of Victoria's inner harbor, just across the street from the Empress Hotel in an elegant old building. Food quality was great, and the warm ambiance dining in the McGregor lounge next to the fireplace surrounded by wood-paneled walls and beautiful art was perfect. Adjoining the dining room is a gorgeous classic bar that made me wish we had skipped our pre-dinner drink at the Empress lounge (noisy, overpriced, and underwhelming) in favor of. The club also has a beautiful reading room in which to relax and enjoy a coffee or tea, and the real gem: the cozy Past Presidents' Library, where you'll want to ensconse yourself in a leather wingback chair by the fire with one of the hundreds of books and hole up for the day. We haven't stayed in the rooms here, but would definitely give it a try on a future visit. Highly recommended. Note: There seems to be an issue with our club's letters of introduction not coming through. We sent ours three times and they never did get it. Recommend printing out or screen-shotting a copy to bring with you, as they won't let you in without it.
  2. Posted on 11/13/2019 - When planning my trip to Victoria, I was fortunate enough to come across the Union Club in the club's directory. What a hidden gem it is! Bottom line up front: My room was clean, spacious and had a delightfully plush bed. The tall, bright windows actually opened to let in the breeze. The bathroom was modern, spotless and had terrific water pressure. It was quiet! I slept like a baby. The shower was perfect in all respects. Amazing staff and delicious breakfast (part of the room rate)! The location was a dream -- just steps from the City's inner harbor wharf and adjacent to the Empress Hotel. This historic landmark is the epitome of gracious living. Stuffy and rule-bound? Not a bit! The staff is there to serve guests any way they can, and everyone went out of their way to make me feel welcome and right at home. Jonathan, the supervisor on staff during my visit, welcomed me with a wonderful email the moment my reservation hit his system -- two weeks before my trip. No coincidence, he proved to be incredibly warm and supportive during my every interaction with him. He is simply SUPERB and will help you to get the most out of your visit! By way of just a few examples: He offered restaurant recommendations that were terrific when I asked, provided me currency exchange when in need and held my bags for me after check-out, while I explored more of the City. What a delight to awaken and know that a delicious breakfast awaited me in the dining room on the main floor. That space was at once warm and inviting but also very grand. In the afternoons, I lazed about in the reading room enjoying the wide variety of interesting subscription publications offered, with a cup of coffee from the complementary coffee/tea service in the lobby. The most remarkable thing to wrap my head around is that the Clubhouse was built barely 60 years after the "founding" of Victoria as a colony by the Hudson Bay Company. There is little doubt that it has seen its share of history. I didn't want to leave and hope to return very soon. Just wonderful! - D. Pugliese
  3. My husband and I just returned from visiting the club in Victoria, BC. It was a memorial experience for our 29th wedding anniversary. The front desk people were extremely helpful and the we thoroughly enjoyed breakfast and our server Mike. The club is beautiful and the accommodations were much more than we expected. The location was perfect down where the ferry docked, right next door to the Fairmont Empress Hotel. We would definitely stay there again!
  4. What a great club! Great location Beautiful Club. Friendly, professional staff. Friendly members. Will go agan.
