Wouldn’t Change It for the World

August 5, 2021

Spent 27 Years in the Corps Pvt – LtCol Wouldn’t change it for the world. I haven’t been to the Memorial in many years. First time was in 1956 when I was stationed at Treasure Island. Later in 1961, my wife and I spent a couple of nights there while on our honeymoon. We were both stationed in San Diego. She was a nurse at Balboa, me at MCRD. Later in 1963, on my way back to Army Special Forces School at Fort Bragg, NC, I stayed at the Club. Haven’t been back since, but hope to some day.

Semper Fi,
Lieutenant Colonel Richard S. Pyne, USMC (Ret)
