In 2015 I began my college and ROTC journey at the University of San Francisco. My father, a retired Marine, introduced me to the Marine’s Memorial Club and the Leatherneck Steakhouse (now Chesty’s). Whenever my parents were in town, we made sure to dine at the steakhouse. Even though he didn’t say it, it was special for my dad to show me how meaningful his time in the Marines was. He thoroughly enjoyed the memorabilia displayed and nostalgic feel of the building. In 2019 I was able to celebrate (at Chesty’s) commissioning as a second lieutenant in the Army. That same year my dad celebrated his official retirement from the Marines. What began as an 8oz filet, over those four years turned into countless memories of dining with loved ones, visits with family, and celebrating milestones. Looking back, it truly did all come full circle. I wish this place well and to 75 more!
