  1. Posted on 10/5/19 - I picked the Sutter Club as a special place of interest in Sacramento to take an elder parent for a weekday lunch. We were greeted as members of a reciprocal club by a representative of the Sutter Club and escorted to the maitre d' and quickly seated in a large, half filled dining room. The decor is California mission and very nicely done. The environment is quiet and appropriate to a members-only downtown club. The service was excellent, the menu more than sufficient for lunch, and the staff very attentive. We both enjoyed the experience and will look forward to repeating it in the future. - George Tucker
  2. Posted on October 11, 2018 at 6:07pm - The staff was friendly and professional and welcomed me as from a reciprocal club. The venue is gorgeous and one couldn't ask for a better spot in the capital city. Not quite the adventure I was seeking on this trip but perhaps next time. - Marie Shadden
  3. Posted on October 11, 2018 at 5:57pm - Very hospitable staff, welcomed me as a reciprocal member. Not quite the adventure I sought in Sacramento this trip, perhaps next time. Great venue in the capital city. - Marie Shadden

  1. Visited this club over the New Year weekend of 2022. I would highly recommend it when visiting Salt Lake. Great Pub!!
  2. September 24, 2018 at 9:03am - was staying in SLC for two months while going through work training. I was not able to stay overnight at the Alta Club but I went there to work out and enjoy a meal afterwards on several occasions. The club is right in downtown and has parking that is free approximately 200 yards away from the entrance. Street parking in this area is hard to come by and you have to pay for it so this is a nice benefit. The gym is modestly sized but the fitness staff were very friendly and they have a massage therapist as well. The locker room has a steam room which is always one of the things I enjoy after exercising. The bar upstairs is business casual and I enjoyed several meals there with the very friendly bartender (John or JW - he answers to both). Very nice club - my guess is the rooms are nice as well but I do not know for sure. - Lou Carmona
  3. My wife and I stayed at the Alta Club in late June 2015 and our visit was outstanding in every respect. I would high recommend a stay at the Alta Club to any member who has occasion to visit Salt Lake City. The rooms are comparable to the MMC. The club also has an excellent dining room and handsome bar which also has a dining area. The food and service are superb. The club also has a library/reading room, game room and ornately decorated lobby. Ranks right up there with the MMC and the Army-Navy Club of Washington, DC.

  1. Had lunch here recently with my wife and kids (March 2025) and we were warmly received. Food was great, staff were friendly, and the ambiance of the club is very nice. Wonderful reading room and sitting areas with cozy fireplaces and lovely mission-style architecture. Would love to visit again when we're in town. Dave Hurd
