One thing special about the Marines Memorial is the people you meet there. One day I was having a drink after work and who was there but Chuck Yeager. He was wearing his P-51 fighter group hat, and told how happy he was in WWII to get the P-51, because now they could escort the bombers all the way across Germany, rather than having to turn back and leave them unprotected. You always meet the best people at the Marines Memorial Club.
