“I remember as a young PFC back in 1947-48 when with the 22^nd Marines at Quantico we were strongly encouraged to make donations to the Marines’ Memorial Club (MMC), and we were all glad to do so. Years later, as a member of Easy Co, 2ndBn, 5th Marines (Korea) Association, we had our reunion at the club on 9/11. On that historic date, I met the new MMC CEO, MGen Mike Myatt, USMC (Ret), on his first day in that position while riding down in the elevator with him. We were well cared for thanks to the new MMC CEO and staff who did their best to help us find transportation home.” - First Lieutenant Gerald F. Merna, USMC (Ret)
