An excellent buffet luncheon will be served prior to the General’s presentation. This event is open to all Active Duty, Retired and Veteran Military, as well as friends of Marines. The USMC Coordinating Council encourages all Bay Area Marines and Veteran Marines to attend and to bring a guest.

Coordinating Council President Colonel Allan Cruz, USMC (Ret.) will also present a special Marine in Spirit Award at the Luncheon.

Tickets for this event are $25.00. Tickets for Active Duty Military are $20.

Guest Speaker: Brigadier General Ryan P. Heritage, USMC


Brigadier General Heritage graduated from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. in 1990. He was commissioned through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Program. From 1991 – 1993, he served as a Rifle Platoon Commander, Weapons Platoon Commander and 81mm Mortar Platoon Commander, 3d Battalion, 8th Marines, deploying twice with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU).

Other operational assignments include Headquarters and Service Company, Rifle Company Commander and Battalion Operations Officer with 3d Battalion, 2d Marines. While serving as the Headquarters and Service Company Commander he deployed with the 26th MEU. The deployment included supporting stabilization operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a Rifle Company Commander, he deployed to Haiti in support of Operation Uphold Democracy. As the Battalion Operations Officer he deployed to Okinawa in support of the Unit Deployment Program. In 2008 he transferred to II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward) where he served as the Current Operations Officer and deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Upon his return he served as Future Operations Officer, 2d Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, NC. In 2011 he transferred to III Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan where he served as the Current Operations Officer. In 2013 he assumed command of the 6th Marine Regiment followed by his assignment as the Deputy Commander, Marine Forces Cyberspace Command, Ft. Meade, MD in 2014.

His service in the supporting establishment and joint assignments include: Series and Company Commander at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California (1993-1996); Parade Commander and Operations Officer Marine Corps Institute, Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C. (2000-2003); Commanding Officer Weapons Training Battalion, Camp Lejeune, N.C. (2006- 2008); Branch Head, Program Analysis and Evaluation Division, Programs and Resources Department, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps (2015-2016); and Joint Assignments as a future operations planner Headquarters, U.S. Southern Command, Miami, FL (2004-2006); Deputy Director for Future Operations, J-3, U.S. Cyberspace Command, Ft. Meade, MD (2016- 2018).

In addition to The Basic School and Infantry Officers Course, Brigadier General Heritage is a graduate of the Amphibious Warfare School, Marine Corps Command and Staff College, Joint and Combined Warfighting School (JPME II), the Army War College and Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.

His personal decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Legion of Merit with gold star, Meritorious Service Medal with four gold stars, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and Joint Service Achievement Medal.
